Young Scholars’ Conference „LUDONARRATIVES: Story, Art, and Play in Game Studies” conference has officially come to a close.
Last week, over two days filled to the brim with gaming goodness, we explored the multiverses of interactive storytelling, game mechanics, cultural mythologies, digital aesthetics, psychological horror, and posthuman player identities. With participants joining us from around the globe, both onsite at the University of Szczecin and online, we explored and discussed topics ranging from Minecraft and Dark Souls to Cult of the Lamb, Stray, and Black Myth: Wukong, as well as a multitude of other media and forms of expression which allow us to tell our ludic narratives.
Our deepest gratitude goes out to:
Prof. Paweł Frelik, for an unforgettable keynote lecture on politics in planetary colonization games;
All our brilliant presenters, chairs, and discussants for their thought-provoking contributions;
The conference committee and technical editors who made this hybrid event a success;
And to everyone who attended, engaged, asked questions, and made the space so vibrant.
Thank you all for making this an unforgettable experience which left us with new perspectives and a lot of new game recommendations!
